        Abstract

        Introduction

On 1st July 2007 Smokefree legislation was introduced across England; thanks to the hard work of members of the Smokefree Lincs Alliance the implementation was a success across the county of Lincolnshire.
Now, several years on; compliance with the law is still high but our business community may have changed so in response we have developed a workplace toolkit.

        Aim

This has been designed to support new and existing, small to medium businesses to ensure that they both understand and continue to comply with smokefree legislation.

The toolkit includes information on current legislation, signage, penalties incurred, illicit products and details of partners who can support a business such as the local stop smoking service. Businesses who receive a toolkit will also be sent any necessary updates for the pack as legislation and/or information changes to ensure it is an ongoing guidance document.

        Outcomes

Since the Workplace Toolkit launched in 2009 over 1000 businesses have received the kit and no further compliance issues have been reported.
The kit is evaluated on a yearly basis to ensure the effectiveness and reviewed-d as and when required.
As a result of feedback this kit is now available to download from our website.
