        Melanie Perry  Secondary Care Smoking Cessation Specialist, Leicester City Stop Smoking Service

        Biography

        Melanie’s career within the NHS spans twenty six years, nursing within Secondary, Community and Primary Care settings, gaining the skills and patient experience that she believes enable her to perform within her role of Secondary Care Specialist so successfully.

        On occasions Melanie has supported the Department of Health and Government Office, East Midlands with initiatives such as CQUIN and QIPP along with the launch of the Secondary Care Guidance in 2008. She worked alongside University Hospitals of Leicester to produce an acclaimed training film called ‘Emily’s Story’.  

        Her approach to training hospital staff is that of ‘hearts and minds’, engaging and inspiring others to make a difference
