Abstract
The Smoking Cessation Service Research Network (SCSRN) is a co-operative of UK Stop Smoking Services that are interested in being involved in research to develop their own performance and determine best practice nationally. Its aim is to facilitate high quality evaluation of innovations in clinical practice.

Membership of the SCSRN is open to any NHS Stop Smoking Service who subscribes to the Russell Standard. The hub of the network is its website (www.scsrn.org) through which members have access to clinical and research resources and a discussion forum through which they can submit questions or research ideas. This year the SCSRN has collaborated with colleagues on several research projects. Including:

  • A project regarding the impact of client satisfaction on abstinence
  • A literature review of online support for smoking cessation
  • An intervention to increase word of mouth referrals
  • An examination of procedures used for CO verification

For more information about the SCSRN please contact SCSRN Director, Andy McEwen: andy.mcewen@ucl.ac.uk or SCSRN Administrator, Sylvia May: sylviamay@scsrn.org.
