        Biography

        Denise Barlow, whose professional background is in medical and psychiatric social work and in human resources, has been working in smoking cessation since 1994. She is in her twelfth year as a trainer (contracted to the New Zealand Heart Foundation and funded by the Ministry of Health) of smoking cessation and related skills for health professionals. Denise contributes to the revision of the NZ Smoking Cessation Guidelines, has authored a range of smoking cessation programmes and has assisted a number of Pacific nations in the establishment smoking cessation services and training.
