        Biography

        Leila de Smidt has a background in psychology, specialising in smoking cessation and is a qualified counsellor. She began working as a stop smoking advisor 2006 with Positive East, an AIDS & HIV charity in Tower Hamlets. In 2008 Leila joined the Lambeth Stop Smoking service to provide smoking cessation counselling for pregnant women and new mothers with children under 5. The specialist pregnancy service provides 1 to 1 integrative counselling for clients as home visits.

        Rachael has been working as counsellor in the Lambeth Stop Smoking Service since May 2010. Her main client group is pregnant women and parents with children under five. She has been training as an integrative counsellor since 2007 and will complete her studies in July. She has previously worked as a voluntary counsellor for a pregnancy service as well as in university administration.
