        Biography

        Peter commenced his career as a Lecturer in medical statistics at Newcastle University, founded the Centre for Health and Medical Research at Teesside University in 1996 and moved in to Public Health in 2000. He has been a Director of Public Health since 2002, firstly in Middlesbrough for five years, for the next five years as DPH for the four Tees PCTs and over the last two years has concurrently been Acting Regional Director of Public Health. He is a long-standing advocate of Tobacco Control in the North East and is currently a Board member of ASH.
