Dr Lisa McNally  Consultant in Public Health, Bracknell Forest Council, Berkshire

        Abstract

Smoking among people with mental health problems is a key and complex challenge. This presentation looks at the prevalence, influences and impact of smoking among this group, as well as key considerations for those offering support in both stop smoking service and mental healthcare settings. Practical treatment issues such as pharmacotherapy and psychosocial support are discussed, as well as the socio-political and cultural context within treatment must operate.
