        Biography

        Beckie Lang is Health Campaigns Manager at Tommy’s where she is responsible for developing campaigns to encourage women to adopt healthy lifestyle behaviours during pregnancy to try and reduce the risk of adverse outcomes.  Beckie is a public health nutritionist and has a PhD in nutrition and mood.  She has worked in nutrition communications for the MRC, and has been involved in research into maternal and infant obesity and prevention of childhood obesity at the universities of Teesside and Warwick.  

        Annette Briley is a Consultant Midwife who has been actively involved in a wide variety of clinical research for more than 15 years. Prior to that she worked clinically and developed a role in fetal medicine, working with women with high risk pregnancies. Currently she is the senior midwife in the Women’s Health Academic Centre at King’s College London. In addition to being involved with numerous trials, she maintains her clinical expertise and is currently completing a PhD.

        Jenny Carter qualified as a midwife in 1998 and has worked in the Women’s Health Academic Centre, King’s Health Partners, since 2003.  She has been involved with a number of research projects including those investigating preeclampsia, the prediction and prevention of preterm birth, nutrition and teenage pregnancy.  She is committed to implementing research into clinical practice and is an Expert Advisor for NICE (National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence).
