        Chair - Welcome and introduction

Andrea Crossfield  Chief Executive, Tobacco Free Futures, Manchester

        Biography

Andrea is Chief Executive Officer of Tobacco Free Futures and has led the organisation since it was formed as Smokefree North West in 2008. She has led the organisation in the transition into a social enterprise from April 2013.

Tackling tobacco related health inequalities and breaking the intergenerational cycle of children and young people’s exposure and addiction to tobacco are her key priorities.

Andrea is actively involved in the Smokefree Action Coalition and has a keen interest in public health advocacy. She believes the success of the tobacco control advocacy movement can provide lessons for good practice for future partnership work to tackle wider well-being agendas.

She believes we can make smoking history for children in the North West of England, and ultimately across the globe, within a generation. This needs the engagement and support of a wide range of groups and individuals – including communities, opinion formers, leaders, healthcare professionals and regulators.

Andrea was awarded an MBE for her contribution to public health and tobacco control in the North West in the 2015 New Year’s Honours list.
