        Dr Marisa de Andrade  Lecturer and Programme Director, Postgraduate Programme in Integrated Service Improvement, University of Edinburgh

        Biography

        Dr Marisa de Andrade is a Lecturer and Director of the Integrated Service Improvement Postgraduate Programme at the University of Edinburgh’s School of Health in Social Science. Prior to that, she was an Impact Fellow at the University of Stirling’s Institute for Social Marketing mentored by Prof Gerard Hastings.

        She has worked on various projects in health policy, health improvement, pharmaceutical regulation, critical communication and tobacco control funded by Cancer Research UK, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and the National Health Service (NHS) amongst others. For the NHS, she engages with marginalised communities using innovative methods, asset-based approaches, co-production and co-design.

        Before entering academia, she worked as a broadcaster and investigative journalist.
